AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina Donates $7,500 to Support Families

Funding supports community partner agencies across North Carolina

AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina announced it has made $7,500 in donations to support community agencies across the state in addressing the needs of families impacted by the current economic downturn. AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina is a prepaid health plan that will begin serving North Carolina Medicaid enrollees in July 2021 and is part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies.

"Families and children have been significantly affected by the state of the economy, with thousands of jobs lost across the state," said AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina Market President Heidi Chan. "At AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina, our focus is on supporting and empowering those in need across their full life journey. We are proud to work with our community based partners to promote wellness and resilience for all North Carolinians."

Donations were made in May to the following agencies: Welfare Reform Liaison Project (Guilford County); Central Piedmont Community Action (Chatham, Orange, Durham, Randolph counties); Wayne Action Group for Economic Solvency (WAGES) Inc. (Wayne County); Better Health of Fayetteville (Cumberland County); and Men and Women United for Youth and Families (Bladen, Brunswick, and Columbus Counties).
